What is Google Ads?

Google Ads is Google’s advertising platform, in which businesses run paid campaigns in search results, Google Shopping, YouTube and the Display Network. Shopping ads are generated from a product feed submitted to Google Merchant Center, so their performance depends heavily on feed quality and accurate conversion tracking. Search campaigns are most often paid for per click.

How we use it at Koda Plus

We are not a media agency and do not manage campaigns day to day – we handle the technical layer that determines how well they perform. We prepare product feeds for Google Merchant Center, implement event and conversion tagging, and build landing pages connected to Google and Meta Ads campaigns that pass campaign parameters into the enquiry form. Google Ads is also part of the stack in our project for the insulation company Wekert. If you have your own Ads specialist, they get a clean feed and working tracking from us; if not, we can recommend trusted partners.

When it makes sense

  • You need traffic quickly, before SEO starts to pay off
  • Your shop needs Shopping campaigns in Google
  • A landing page should collect leads from a specific campaign
  • You need reliable conversion measurement

Frequently asked questions
Google Ads

  • What is the difference between Google Ads and SEO?

Google Ads is paid advertising: traffic arrives as soon as a campaign goes live and stops when you stop paying. SEO builds visibility in unpaid results more slowly, but the effect lasts longer. The two channels complement each other, because campaign data shows which queries actually sell.

  • What is Google Merchant Center?

It is the Google tool to which a shop submits its product feed with prices, availability and images. Shopping ads and free listings in Google Shopping are generated from it. Feed errors, such as a price that does not match the website, can lead to products being disapproved and no longer shown.

  • How do I track conversions from Google Ads?

Conversions are tracked with the Google Ads tag or by importing key events from GA4, tied to specific actions such as a form submission, a purchase or a sign-up. Correct tagging and proper handling of user consent, for example through Consent Mode, are essential, otherwise the campaign optimises on incomplete data.
