SEO content planning approach

Content strategy is a plan of topics and publications based on what customers actually search for, so a blog and service pages attract traffic and enquiries.

What is Content strategy?

Content strategy is a plan for which articles and pages a website publishes, for whom, around which keywords and how they lead to sales. It covers choosing topics based on real queries and their intent, structuring topic clusters, a publishing calendar and regular updates to existing content. Well-planned content builds visibility in Google and makes it more likely that AI systems cite the site as a source.

How we use it at Koda Plus

We build content strategies around topic clusters: a pillar page covers the subject broadly, and articles on specific threads link to it in both directions. Before writing a brief we check search intent and what Google already shows for the query, and on established sites we review and improve existing content first. We run the koda.plus blog the same way – topics come from Google autocomplete queries gathered with our own script, and posts draw on experience from real implementations. We use AI models for research and drafts, but a person is responsible for the substance, examples and editing.

When it makes sense

  • Customers research your offer before they buy
  • Your blog exists but brings no traffic or enquiries
  • Several pages compete for the same keyword
  • You want AI tools to cite your content as a source

Frequently asked questions
Content strategy

  • What is a topic cluster in SEO?

It is a group of content around one subject: a pillar page covering the topic broadly and articles developing specific threads, linked in both directions. The structure shows search engines that the site covers the topic thoroughly and makes navigation easier for readers.

  • What is keyword cannibalisation?

It happens when several pages on the same site target the same keyword and the same intent. Search engines get no clear signal about which one to show, so none of them captures the full traffic. The fix is to merge the content, redirect the weaker page or clearly separate the topics.

  • Does Google penalise AI-generated content?

Not for using AI as such. Google assesses the quality and usefulness of content and treats mass-produced pages with no original value as spam, regardless of who wrote them. Text drafted with a model should still be fact-checked and edited, with examples drawn from real experience.
