B2B price lists

B2B sales concept

B2B price lists set prices per customer group and per company, with discounts and quantity breaks. Logged-in buyers see only their own terms.

What is B2B price lists?

B2B price lists are a pricing system in which the same product costs different amounts depending on the buyer: their price group, negotiated terms and order quantity. Four models are usually combined – price groups, discounts off a base price, customer-specific price lists and tiered quantity pricing. What keeps it manageable is a single base price, rules instead of thousands of manually entered rates, and a clear priority for when a customer falls under several rules at once.

How we use it at Koda Plus

Per-group and per-customer pricing, with quantity breaks and individually negotiated prices, is the foundation of the B2B wholesale stores we build. We usually sync it with the ERP, so each price is set in one place. In Medusa.js stores we base it on the built-in price lists assigned to customer groups – the model behind our KODA SUPPLY wholesale demo at demo.koda.plus. In B2B mobile apps both sales reps and customers see prices from the list assigned to that account, together with discount tiers.

When it makes sense

  • Different customers pay different prices for the same goods
  • Sales reps confirm prices by email or over the phone
  • The unit price drops as order quantities grow
  • Price lists are maintained in an ERP and must match the store

Frequently asked questions
B2B price lists

  • How do you set individual prices for customers in an online store?

Customers are assigned to price groups, and selected companies get negotiated price lists and quantity breaks on top. Once logged in, a customer sees their own prices, while guests see catalogue prices or none at all. When a customer falls under several rules, a priority set in advance decides – typically the customer-specific list beats the group, and the quantity break applies to the result.

  • What is the difference between a price group and a customer-specific price list?

A price group is a price level shared by many companies with a similar profile, such as wholesale or premium wholesale, so one change covers the whole segment. A customer-specific price list holds individual rates for a single company, usually negotiated in a contract. Groups are for scale, customer price lists are for exceptions.

  • Can B2B price lists be synced with Subiekt GT or Comarch Optima?

Yes. The price list is set in the ERP and the store pulls it through an integration, so nobody maintains prices in two places. The data exchange has to reflect how Subiekt GT and Comarch Optima store individual price lists and customer records, as that shapes the integration design.
