What is Company registration by VAT ID?
Company registration by VAT ID is a B2B store sign-up process in which the buyer enters their tax number (NIP in Poland), and the system fetches the company's details from the REGON register via the GUS API and checks its VAT status. Polish businesses are checked against the VAT taxpayer register kept by the National Revenue Administration, known as the white list, while EU VAT numbers of companies from other member states are validated in VIES. The account then usually waits for approval, when an account manager assigns a price group and trading terms.
How we use it at Koda Plus
Company registration and verification by VAT ID is a standard part of the B2B wholesale stores we build: address details fill in automatically, the buyer's status is checked in the VAT register, and in VIES for EU companies, and the new account goes to moderation. Until an account manager approves the company and assigns a price group, the customer cannot see wholesale prices. We attach multiple users with different permissions to a single company account, such as the person placing orders, the approver and accounts. You can try registration by VAT ID in our wholesale demo at demo.koda.plus.
