What is Shopify?
Shopify is a SaaS e-commerce platform: you pay a subscription and the vendor looks after servers, security, checkout and updates. The storefront is driven by a theme, and extra features come from apps in the Shopify App Store. The trade-off is the platform’s limits – deeper checkout changes in practice require Shopify Plus, and using an external payment gateway instead of Shopify Payments adds a transaction fee.
How we use it at Koda Plus
Shopify handles sales for a ballistic protection manufacturer whose storefront we built in Webflow and connected to Shopify through Storesynk. For a shop selling consumer electronics, home appliances and garden products, synced with a central warehouse, we deployed an AI agent that answers customers in the shop and on Allegro and passes harder cases to the team. We design themes around the brand rather than buying off-the-shelf templates, and when a shop outgrows the platform we move it on – as with a tyre and wheel shop that went from Shopify to Medusa.
