What is llms.txt?
llms.txt is a proposed standard for a Markdown file served at /llms.txt that summarises a website and links to its key pages for large language models. It is not a search engine standard and there is no guarantee that any AI system reads it – Google has said it does not use the file in Search or in AI Overviews. It is best treated as an optional extra rather than a visibility mechanism.
How we use it at Koda Plus
On koda.plus we maintain our own llms.txt: a description of our services with links to the offer, the technologies we use, frequently asked questions, company details and a short summary in English. In AEO projects we treat it as an optional extra, not a substitute for work on search-agent access, structured data and content.
In our services
When it makes sense
- Your technical SEO and structured data are already in order
- You want to give models a concise, up-to-date summary of your offer
- Your site has many pages and the key ones need highlighting
- Documentation or a knowledge base should be easy for AI to process
